The STIXX Roller transforms a few loosely rolled sheets of newspaper into sturdy batons, with a turn of the handle. The machinery resembles a mangle and it takes a five year old 10 minutes to master and it works like magic, transferring newspaper back into its wooden form therefore making it possible to make a chair strong enough to sit on. This combines the 3 principles of materials that cost nothing, environmentally-friendly and can be both creative and functional according to need. Children can experience designing, making and evaluating their own work. It fits into Design Technology running alongside  the National Curriculum, working with measurement, balance and fine motor skills.
