Songololo-Feet are in the process of delivering a project called Recycling In Shape, funded by Team Hackney. We are working with a group of over-sixties, teaching simple African printing techniques onto recycled fabric, which is then created into tablecloths, cushion covers or bags. We are a quarter way through the project, and the group have embraced learning new skills with gusto and enthusiasm. They have produced very exciting results and we can’t wait to start the next part of the project: crocheting plastic bags and bottle top suit-cases.
